Is SilkDots an agency?
No. SilkDots is a directory only. Each listing is created and managed by the advertiser. We do not employ, dispatch, or broker services on behalf of advertisers, and no transaction takes place on our site.
How does verification work?
Verification is optional. The advertiser uploads a live selfie holding a one-time code we generate. A human admin reviews the selfie and confirms the photos on the profile match. Verified advertisers carry a green checkmark on their cards.
Why don't all advertisers have the verified badge?
Verification is optional. The absence of a checkmark only means the advertiser hasn't completed the process — it isn't a judgment. Verified profiles do tend to get more contact clicks, so we recommend it.
How are reviews moderated?
Only users who have actually contacted an advertiser through SilkDots can leave a review on that profile. Drive-by ratings aren't allowed. Owners can reply to a review once. Flagrant abuse can be flagged for moderator review.
I edited my ad and it didn't change publicly. Why?
Text edits (title, description, price, contact info) auto-apply on a live ad. Image changes — adding, removing, replacing, reordering, or swapping the primary photo — go through admin approval before they appear publicly. Your ad stays live with its previous photos until the new ones are approved.
How does boosting work?
A boost moves your listing into the featured tier on the city page for a fixed number of days. Boosts are city-targeted and rotate within the featured tier so every boosted advertiser gets fair exposure. You buy boosts with your wallet balance.
Are wallet top-ups and boosts refundable?
No. All wallet top-ups, boost purchases, and other paid features are final and non-refundable once the transaction completes. Please read pricing and limits carefully before purchasing. See the Terms of Service for the full policy.
How do I report a fake or abusive listing?
Use the report link on the ad detail page or the dedicated report form. Reports are reviewed by a human and acted on quickly. Listings that violate our rules are removed.
I'm under 18. Can I use the site?
No. SilkDots is strictly for adults aged 18 and over. The age gate is shown on every visit. Posting an ad requires verifying your email address.
