DMCA Policy
SilkDots respects intellectual property rights. If you believe a listing on our site uses your copyrighted work without permission, you can submit a notice under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512) and we will act on it.
What to include in a takedown notice
- A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or someone authorized to act on their behalf.
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed (with a link or copy if possible).
- The exact URL on SilkDots where the allegedly infringing material is located.
- Your name, address, phone number, and email address.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf.
Where to send it
Email your notice to dmca@example.com with the subject line “DMCA Notice”. Notices missing required elements may be ignored.
What happens next
Once we receive a valid notice, we remove the disputed material promptly. We notify the advertiser of the takedown and the reason. Repeat infringers have their accounts terminated.
Counter-notices
If you believe your content was removed in error, you can send a counter-notice with the same elements above plus a statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed by mistake or misidentification, and that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your district.
False claims
Submitting a false DMCA notice can result in legal liability under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f). Don't use the DMCA process to attack competitors or for content disputes that aren't about copyright. For non-copyright complaints (fake photos, impersonation, abuse, etc.), use the report form instead.
